Every year, more than 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, embark on a continuous circular journey in search of fresh grazing and water. Driven by seasonal rainfall, this remarkable migration covers approximately 800 to 1,000 kilometers and is recognized as one of the greatest natural events on Earth.
By July to October, the migration reaches the Serengeti national park, where the famous Mara River crossings occur. Thousands of wildebeest plunge into crocodile filled waters, battling strong currents and steep riverbanks in one of nature's most dramatic survival events.
