The day has finally arrived for your epic East African adventure to begin! Today, you will board your flight to Uganda, likely with a healthy dose of excitement and anticipation. Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our private transfer driver who will whisk you away to your cozy haven for the night: the historic Boma Hotel.
Nestled in a leafy, peaceful suburb of Entebbe, this charming colonial-style boutique hotel beautifully preserves the character of the original 1940s home. Take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, stroll through the vibrant tropical gardens that attract turtles, exotic birds, and playful vervet monkeys, or rent a bicycle from the hotel to explore the nearby Entebbe Botanical Gardens along the peaceful lake shores. Unwind, shake off your travel fatigue, and ease into the warm African rhythm: this is your perfect soft landing to relax before we dive deep into the Ugandan wild.

Leave Entebbe behind and embark on a scenic six hour road trip in your private 4x4 Toyota Prado to the volcanic Crater Lakes. Enjoy spectacular views of lush rolling hills, local markets, and green tea plantations. In the afternoon, visit a local Ugandan family for an authentic, hands-on coffee tour. You will learn how coffee cherries are harvested, peeled, roasted over an open fire, and ground to powder, before tasting a fresh cup of your own Arabica brew.
If you want to dive deeper into local flavours, you can optionally add a traditional three hour cooking class with our local partner Noah to learn how to prepare matoke and chicken luwombo simmered in banana leaves. Settle in at Isunga Lodge and enjoy a cold drink on your private cottage veranda overlooking the green canopy of Kibale Forest as the sun sets.

Watch local life unfold in the villages along the dirt roads as you approach the park boundaries. After settling into your lodge, it is time for your first thrilling afternoon game drive!
Set out across the open plains to track elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and elegant Uganda kobs grazing in the golden light. If luck is on your side, you might even spot a leopard or a pride of lions. In the evening, check into your self-contained safari tent at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge, nestled on the edge of the Kazinga Channel, where the grunts of hippos and distant calls of hyenas will serenade you under the starry African sky.

Listen closely for sudden, explosive pants hoots echoing through the jungle. Once you locate the chimpanzees, spend an unforgettable hour observing them groom, play, feed, and swing effortlessly from branch to branch. Keep your eyes open for black and white colobus monkeys, rare butterflies, and exotic birds along the forest trails. Waking up to the wild sounds of the savannah is an experience like no other. Today, you will explore Queen Elizabeth National Park from two completely different perspectives. In the morning, set off in your private 4x4 Toyota Prado for a game drive across the plains. Head to the southern Ishasha sector and scan the branches of massive fig trees to search for the legendary tree-climbing lions.
In the afternoon, swap the dusty tracks for the cool water on a thrilling two hour boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel. This natural channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. Drift safely past massive hippo families, enormous Nile crocodiles lounging on the banks, and herds of elephants quenching their thirst at the water's edge. Return to Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge to spend another night under the starry African sky.

By afternoon, the majestic, misty outline of the UNESCO protected Bwindi Impenetrable National Park emerges. Arrive at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, nestled on a forested hill just a short walk from the park gate. Check into your cozy cottage, look out over the ancient jungle canopy, and enjoy a delicious dinner. Today is all about resting and saving your energy for tomorrow's big gorilla trekking adventure.

After a relaxed breakfast, leave the misty rainforest of Bwindi behind and drive approximately four hours north to Lake Mburo National Park, a beautiful savannah jewel in southern Uganda. Watch the landscape change from steep, terraced green highlands to flat grasslands dotted with acacia trees. Settle into the eco-friendly Rwakobo Rock, perched on a massive rocky outcrop at the edge of the park. From your private cottage scattered across the hill, you can enjoy views of the lush bush where grunting warthogs and elegant impalas wander by.
This evening, you will experience a unique highlight: a nocturnal night safari! As the sun sets, set off with a professional park ranger and a high-powered spotlight. Since there are no lions or elephants here, it is completely safe to walk amongst herds of peaceful zebras, elands, and impalas.
In the afternoon, set off in your private 4x4 Toyota Prado for an exciting game drive across the plains. Explore the tracks of the park to search for buffaloes, topis, waterbucks, and leopards hunting in the grass. In the evening, return to Hyena Hill Lodge to watch the sunset over the lakes, sharing stories around a crackling campfire under the stars.

All good things must come to an end, and today your unforgettable Ugandan journey concludes. After a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you back to Entebbe. Along the way, stop at the Equator crossing for a fun photo opportunity, souvenirs, and a cup of coffee. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your check-in and international flight home.
