Your safari begins with your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, where you'll be warmly welcomed and transferred to the renowned Ilala Lodge Hotel, perfectly positioned within walking distance of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. After settling into your room, spend the afternoon exploring the magnificent Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke That Thunders". Wander the network of rainforest paths, marvel at the countless viewpoints and feel the spray rising from the world's largest curtain of falling water. As the day draws to a close, return to Ilala Lodge to relax before dinner, reflecting on the first unforgettable moments of your African adventure. Tomorrow, you'll cross into Botswana and begin your journey into the wildlife-rich landscapes of Chobe National Park.

Day 2
Transfer to Kasane and Safari in the Chobe National Park
Transfer to Kasane and Safari in the Chobe National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, you'll depart Victoria Falls at around 10:00 am for the scenic drive through across the Zimbabwe–Botswana border to Kasane, arriving at Chobe House around midday. It's very common to see a variety of wildlife on this drive.
Settle in to your spacious chalet before enjoying a freshly-prepared lunch overlooking the Chobe River.
Later that afternoon, your safari truly begins as you board one of our boats for a private river safari into Chobe National Park. Renowned for its exceptional wildlife, the Chobe River attracts vast herds of elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and an incredible diversity of birdlife. Watching elephants swim between islands while the African sun begins to set is one of Botswana's most unforgettable experiences.
Return to Chobe House as dusk settles over the river, where dinner awaits on our unique floating restaurant, reflecting on the first wildlife encounters of your safari.

Explore Chobe National Park by Game Viewer and Boat
Wake up beside the Chobe River and enjoy a light breakfast before setting off on a morning boat safari. Early mornings offer a different perspective, with beautiful light, active birdlife and wildlife gathering along the riverbanks. Tea, coffee and traditional rusks are served on board as you quietly drift past elephants, hippos and crocodiles.
Return to Chobe House for brunch and lunch before heading back into the Chobe National Park on an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle. Home to one of Africa's largest elephant populations, the park also offers excellent opportunities to see lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffe and much more.
Soft drinks, beer and wine are served during your safari.
The order of activities can be tailored to your preferences, but we generally recommend making the most of Chobe's exceptional boat safaris, as your Okavango Delta adventure will focus primarily on game drives, giving you the best possible variety of safari experiences.

Board a scenic charter flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta, enjoying spectacular aerial views of winding channels, floodplains and wildlife below.
Your guide will meet you at the airstrip, and your safari continues immediately as you game drive towards camp, stopping for wildlife sightings along the way. The first two nights will be spent in the Delta's renowned 'Third Bridge', offering exciting and diverse landscapes, and large populations of various species.
Arrive to find your private camp fully prepared by our team, complete with spacious safari tents, comfortable beds and a delicious lunch waiting for you. After a chance to settle in, head back into the wilderness for an afternoon game drive before returning to camp for dinner around the campfire beneath Africa's spectacular night sky. As darkness falls, the sounds of the Delta provide the perfect soundtrack to your first night in one of the world's last great wildernesses.

Explore the Okavango Delta
Spend a full day exploring the diverse ecosystems surrounding Third Bridge, one of the Okavango Delta's premier wildlife areas. Your guide will tailor the day's route according to recent wildlife sightings, visiting floodplains, seasonal channels and renowned areas such as Dombo Hip Pools and Mboma Island. This location has, year on year, produced some of our most remarkable animal sightings, and is a must-visit location for anyone interested in safari.
Enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch in the heart of the Delta before continuing your afternoon safari. The area offers excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, hyena and an incredible diversity of birdlife.
Subject to availability, we can also arrange a traditional mokoro canoe safari. Depending on wildlife movements and seasonal conditions, your guide may also explore the Xakanaxa region.
Return to camp for another evening around the campfire beneath Africa's spectacular night sky.

Today you'll continue your journey through the heart of the Okavango Delta, game driving towards the renowned Xakanaxa region. Exploring a diverse mix of permanent waterways, floodplains and mopane woodland, your guide will adapt the day's route according to recent wildlife sightings, visiting areas such as Paradise Pools, Xakanaxa Lagoon and the surrounding floodplains.
A freshly prepared picnic lunch is enjoyed in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon safari. Xakanaxa is famous for its outstanding wildlife and birdlife, offering excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffe, hippos and crocodiles in one of Botswana's most scenic landscapes.
Arrive at camp for your final evening beneath the stars, sharing stories around the campfire and reflecting on an unforgettable adventure through the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. By this time you would have had an adventure most people can only dream of.

Enjoy one final early morning game drive as the Okavango Delta awakens for another day. The cool morning temperatures offer excellent opportunities to encounter predators returning from the night's hunt, as well as elephants, buffalo, giraffe and a remarkable variety of birdlife.
After breakfast, bid farewell to your guide and the Delta before boarding your scenic charter flight to Maun (or Kasane, depending on your onward travel arrangements). As you fly over the winding waterways and floodplains one last time, take with you unforgettable memories of Botswana's wildlife, landscapes and warm hospitality.
