Tarangire National Park Game Drive to Off-Trail Night Safari

Your private safari guide will pick you up early from your hotel to drive directly to Tarangire National Park, where you will spend the day winding through spectacular baobab-studded landscapes while tracking massive family herds of elephants and enjoying a scenic picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, you will exit the national park to check into the nearby Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, settle into your elevated tented room, and enjoy a warm dinner at the lodge restaurant as the sun sets over Lake Burunge and the valley. At night, you will embark directly from the lodge area for a thrilling, off-trail night game drive in the surrounding Sangaiwe and Burunge Wildlife Management Area, using high-powered spotlights to track nocturnal species like genets, springhares, owls, and active predators on the hunt before returning to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge for your overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Exploration and Departure to Arusha

After a hot breakfast at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, you will check out and enjoy a scenic morning drive past Lake Manyara and up the steep Rift Valley Escarpment into the cooler, lush highlands of Karatu to enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will stop briefly for panoramic photos at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint before descending 600 meters into the ancient caldera floor for a comprehensive game drive. Here, you will spend the day traversing the grasslands, soda lakes, and fever tree forests in search of the Big Five, including the highly endangered black rhino, prides of lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and giant bull elephants, taking a lunch break at the scenic Ngoitokitok Hippo Pool before ascending the steep crater walls and driving back to Arusha for your evening departure.
