The Gorilla Encounter & Lodge Relaxation

This is the pinnacle day of your expedition. After an early breakfast, head to the park station for a briefing on gorilla etiquette. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you will step into the depths of the ancient rainforest. Your dedicated porter will carry your daypack and provide a steady hand on the forest trails. All fatigue vanishes the moment your guide parts the leaves to reveal a family of Mountain Gorillas. Spend a magical hour just meters away from these giants, watching the silverback protect his family while juveniles playfully tumble through the foliage.

Begin your morning with an active, refreshing, guided mountain bike ride along the scenic dirt trails of the Buhoma area. Pedal alongside rushing mountain rivers, past vibrant local homesteads, and through the beautiful fringes of the forest canopy.

Return to the lodge for a fresh lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, embark on an immersive cultural journey with the indigenous Batwa people. Once the hunter-gatherer masters of the Bwindi forest, the Batwa elders will demonstrate their traditional survival skills, including ancient fire-making techniques, medicinal plant harvesting, and hunting traditions, culminating in a powerful performance of traditional songs and dances.
