Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel, followed by a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, crossing the equator into the Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru is renowned worldwide for its flamingos – at times there may be almost 2 million in residence, forming a stunning deep pink band around the lakeshore. The park is also a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos. Arrive in time for lunch, then head out for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours through the Great Rift Valley's dramatic landscapes. The Masai Mara holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and attendant predators. Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions, as well as its abundant resident wildlife. It's one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning's game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under vehicles. For bird enthusiasts, almost 500 species have been recorded. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness, and consider an optional hot-air balloon safari or Maasai village visit. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and drive to the Isebania border, crossing into Tanzania. Your Tanzanian driver-guide will meet you after immigration. Continue into the legendary Serengeti National Park, enjoying game viewing en route. The Serengeti means "endless plains" in Kiswahili and is home to more than 2 million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, Thomson's gazelles, and large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Arrive at your camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the flamingos on the lakeshore, along with large numbers of buffalo, giraffes, and elephants. In the afternoon, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your beach resort for three days of relaxation.
