Rhinos and the mighty falls
Morning
Early departure from Kampala in a private 4x4 safari vehicle with your driver-guide. You travel
north through Luwero and Masindi, passing rural towns, farmland, and open countryside. This
route traces part of Uganda’s historic trade corridor, now a quiet stretch of road that reveals daily
village life and changing landscapes.
Mid-morning
Arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an on-foot rhino tracking experience.
Tracking them on foot is calm, deliberate, and surprisingly intimate.
Afternoon
Lunch en route, then continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the Top of the Falls,
where the Nile is forced through a seven-metre-wide rock gorge before plunging over 40 metres
into the river below. This narrow squeeze makes Murchison one of the world’s most powerful
waterfalls, and the thunder, spray, and swirling currents explain why early explorers called it the
“Devil’s Cauldron.”
