Arrive in Arusha and Settle Into Tanzania

A Karibu Tena representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer you privately to your Arusha accommodation. Settle into your room, recover from the journey and meet your trip host for a relaxed welcome briefing covering the route, safari etiquette, timing and practical questions. Dinner and drinking water are included. If your flight arrives late, the evening program will be adjusted so you can rest before the hosted Arusha experience.

Meet the People Shaping Tanzania's Future

Today introduces the Tanzania behind the wildlife photographs. After breakfast, join a privately hosted session with Selfless Solutions and Tanzanian educators, program leaders or entrepreneurs working to expand education and economic opportunity. Share a locally hosted lunch and learn through conversation rather than a staged performance. Any project observation is arranged around current activities, safeguarding and consent, so normal classes and community routines are not disrupted. A community contribution is already included, and there is no donation appeal.

Enter Tarangire and Settle Beside the Wild

After breakfast, leave Arusha in your private pop-up-roof 4x4 and travel toward Tarangire, with a picnic lunch provided. Enter the park through its main entrance and begin an afternoon game drive among baobab woodland, river valleys and open savannah. Your guide will shape the route around current wildlife conditions rather than rush between predetermined stops. Later, continue to Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp, located just outside the park, for dinner and the first of two nights.

Main Destination:
Tarangire National Park
Best Time To Visit July to November (Animals come to the Tarangire River)
High Season June to October (The park is full of visitors)

Slow Down Where the Elephants Gather

Spend a complete day in Tarangire without packing your bags or racing toward another lodge. Your private guide can begin early, follow fresh wildlife information, pause patiently at sightings and choose between a full-day drive with a picnic lunch or morning and afternoon drives with time to rest at the lodge. Tarangire is especially known for elephants, baobab landscapes and wildlife drawn toward its river system, although every sighting remains natural and cannot be guaranteed. Return to the same tented lodge for dinner and a second night.

Begin with a final Tarangire game drive, giving your guide another opportunity to explore areas missed the previous day. After lunch, leave the park and continue toward the fertile Ngorongoro Highlands and Karatu District. Arrive at Marera Valley Lodge in the afternoon, settle into your cottage and enjoy the gardens, swimming pool or veranda before dinner.

Descend Early Into Ngorongoro Crater

Leave after an early breakfast for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for a private game drive. Explore the caldera floor with your guide, looking for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site before ascending from the crater. Continue across the highlands to Ngorongoro Wild Camp for dinner and overnight, positioning you farther along the route toward Serengeti and reducing unnecessary backtracking.

Main Destination:
Ngorongoro Crater
Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)

Cross the Highlands Into the Serengeti

After breakfast, travel from the Ngorongoro Highlands through the conservation area toward Serengeti National Park. This is a long but rewarding transfer day, combining changing highland scenery, open plains, a picnic lunch and game viewing as you enter through the Naabi Hill area. Continue across Central Serengeti with your private guide, stopping when wildlife and road conditions allow. Reach ThornTree Camp in the Seronera area for dinner and the first of two nights, replacing another rushed checkout with time to experience the wilderness after dark.

Main Destination:
Central Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)
High Season July to March (The Seronera area is crowded)
Best Weather June to October (Little to no rainfall)

A Full Serengeti Day With Time to Observe

Enjoy a full private safari day in Central Serengeti with no onward transfer controlling the schedule. Begin early or choose a more relaxed start, then explore river valleys, open plains and rocky kopjes while your guide responds to recent sightings, weather and animal movement. You may take a picnic lunch into the park or return to camp for a midday break before an afternoon drive. The slower pace creates room for photography, animal behaviour and quiet observation. Return to the same camp for dinner and your final night in the bush.
