Departure from Arusha in the morning, driving west through the Great Rift Valley toward Serengeti National Park. Along the way, sweeping views of Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands set the tone for what's ahead. Arrival at Serengeti in the afternoon, followed by an afternoon game drive across the plains in search of lion, elephant, giraffe, and depending on season the wildebeest migration. Overnight at a lodge in the park.

Full Day Serengeti Game Drive
Full Day Serengeti Game Drive
A full day exploring the Serengeti's central and northern plains with an early morning and afternoon game drive, timed around when wildlife is most active. This is prime territory for the "Big Five," with strong chances of spotting lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and (with luck) rhino, alongside cheetah, hyena, and large herds of plains game. Picnic lunch in the park. Overnight again in the Serengeti.

Day 3
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
Early breakfast, then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive across the crater floor one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, packed into a compact, dramatic landscape. Look out for lion, elephant, hippo, flamingo, and the chance of black rhino. Picnic lunch at a designated spot inside the crater, then ascent out of the crater and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
