3-Day Maasai Mara – Big Five Safari Adventure

Nairobi-Masai Mara

Your safari starts with pickup from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel. Leave Nairobi and travel through the Kenyan countryside towards the Maasai Mara. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos and a short break. Enjoy the wide views before continuing to the Mara.

Arrive at Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive. Your guide will choose good areas to explore based on what you would like to see. Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. Take photos, enjoy the views and learn about the animals from your guide before returning to camp for dinner and a peaceful night.

Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve

Imagine waking up to the sounds of the African bush. You may choose to Start your day with an optional hot air balloon safari (at own cost ) and float above the Maasai Mara as the sun rises. Enjoy wide views of the plains and watch animals move below before landing. Alternatively, leave camp after breakfast with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive. Your guide will focus on areas where you have the best chance to search for the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos.

If you travel during the Great Migration season, you may visit the Mara River and, if conditions are right, witness the famous river crossing. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary Maasai village visit, included when you book with us. Meet local people, see their homes, learn about their daily life and enjoy traditional songs and dances. Alternatively, choose an optional sundowner and enjoy drinks and snacks as you watch the sun set over the Mara.

Maasai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi

After an early breakfast, check out of Zebra Plains Mara Camp and leave the Maasai Mara for Nairobi. Enjoy the changing views as you travel through the Kenyan countryside and the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, stop at Lake Naivasha for a complimentary boat ride, included when you book this safari with us. Cruise across the lake and look for hippos, waterbirds and other wildlife while enjoying the peaceful views.

Alternatively, you may choose an optional guided nature walk (at own cost) and explore the area on foot among free-roaming wildlife. Your guide will help you enjoy the experience that best suits you before continuing to Nairobi. Arrive with great memories of the Big Five, Maasai culture, the Mara and the beautiful landscapes of Kenya.
