Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by our representative and privately transferred to the iconic Sarova Stanley Hotel, located in the heart of Nairobi. After check-in from 14:00, enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure or choose an optional excursion, depending on your arrival time.

Overnight at Sarova Stanley Hotel in a Deluxe Room on a bed and breakfast basis. Day 2

Nairobi to Shaba National Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel north through the scenic countryside, passing Thika and continuing through lush tea and coffee plantations, rolling landscapes and rushing mountain streams. After Nanyuki, continue towards Isiolo, the gateway to Kenya’s remote northern frontier, before making the final drive to Shaba National Reserve.

Arrive at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon private game drive as you explore the reserve’s dramatic landscapes and unique wildlife. Return to the lodge at sunset and relax beside the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Enjoy the lodge’s peaceful setting, swimming pool and beautiful surroundings. Shaba is famously associated with Joy Adamson and her lioness Elsa, earning it the name **“Born Free Country.

Begin your day with an early morning private game drive in Shaba National Reserve, when wildlife is most active and the morning light brings the reserve to life. Return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast before spending the late morning relaxing by the swimming pool or on the terrace overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 4

Shaba to Lake Nakuru – From the Northern Frontier to the Rift Valley

Shaba to Lake Nakuru – From the Northern Frontier to the Rift Valley

After breakfast, leave Shaba behind and travel south through Isiolo, passing the northern foothills of Mount Kenya before reaching Nanyuki. Continue towards Nyahururu and then south through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Enter the park and enjoy a private game drive en route to Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, with opportunities to spot rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife. After lunch and a short siesta, head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and searching for its famous birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans.

Return to the lodge at sunset and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Nakuru. As an added experience, enjoy a special bush lunch surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the national park.

After an early breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru behind and drive towards Njoro, ascending the scenic Mau Escarpment before continuing south towards Narok, the gateway to the legendary Maasai Mara. Travel through Kenya’s fertile “breadbasket,” surrounded by vast fields of wheat and barley, before arriving in the Mara in time for lunch.

After lunch and a short siesta, embark on your private afternoon game drive, exploring the rolling grasslands in search of lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, cheetahs and other wildlife. Return to Sarova Mara Game Camp at sunset and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

Maasai Mara to Nairobi – End of Safari

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Drive through the rolling wheat and barley farms towards Narok, before crossing the vast Rift Valley plains, where you may spot giraffes, gazelles and other wildlife along the way.

Continue up the Rift Valley Escarpment and onward to Nairobi, arriving around midday. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your preferred location in the city centre or at the airport for your onward travel arrangements.
