Day 2

Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve

Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel north through Kenya's scenic central highlands, passing Thika, fertile tea and coffee plantations, rolling farmlands, and the foothills of Mount Kenya. Continue through Nanyuki before reaching Isiolo, the gateway to Kenya's remote northern frontier. From here, proceed to Samburu National Reserve, arriving at Samburu Simba Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in this unique wilderness, renowned for its dramatic landscapes and rare wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five: the Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay. Samburu Simba Lodge, overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River and Buffalo Springs, offers comfortable rooms, swimming pools, and spectacular views of the surrounding plains, where elephants and other wildlife are frequently seen.

Start the day with an early morning game drive, when wildlife is most active, offering excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, leopards, Grevy's zebras, reticulated giraffes, Beisa oryx, gerenuks, and a variety of birdlife. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast before spending the rest of the morning at leisure, relaxing by the swimming pool or on the terrace overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. After lunch, set out on another exciting afternoon game drive through Samburu National Reserve, returning to the lodge at sunset. Day 4

After breakfast, depart Samburu National Reserve and journey south through Isiolo, passing the northern foothills of Mount Kenya and the town of Nanyuki. Continue to Nyahururu, a picturesque town near the Equator and home to the spectacular 74-meter Thompson Falls on the Ewaso Nyiro River. Stop at the Equator for memorable photographs before arriving at The Panari Resort Nyahururu in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk through the resort's beautiful grounds, followed by a visit to Thompson Falls and the nearby Hippo Pools, where you may spot hippos and a variety of birdlife. Return to the resort in the late afternoon to relax and enjoy its tranquil forest setting. Dinner and overnight stay at The Panari Resort Nyahururu in a Standard Room on a full board basis. After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic wildlife destinations. Enjoy a game drive through the park, renowned for its abundant birdlife, including flamingos (seasonal), pelicans, and other water birds. The park is also home to endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and a variety of other wildlife. After lunch at the lodge, continue with a game drive as you exit the park before proceeding to Lake Naivasha, arriving in the afternoon. After check-in, enjoy a relaxing one-hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can spot hippos, fish eagles, pelicans, and other bird species. Arrive at the Mara in time for lunch, followed by some time to relax before embarking on an exciting afternoon game drive. After breakfast, depart the Maasai Mara and travel back to Nairobi, passing through the scenic Maasai countryside with its rolling wheat and barley farms. Continue to Narok, the gateway town of Maasailand, before crossing the vast Great Rift Valley plains and ascending the escarpment via the historic road constructed during World War II. Arrive in Nairobi around midday, where you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Panari Hotel, or Emara Ole Sereni Hotel for your onward travel arrangements.
