Day 1

Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park

The safari kicks off early with a prompt pick-up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi (or alternatively from a coastal resort in Mombasa). The drive heads towards Tsavo East, one of Kenya's oldest and largest parks, famous for its vast, reddish earth. Upon entering through the Manyani or Voi gate, the adventure begins immediately with an introductory game drive. You will traverse the sweeping savannah to spot the iconic "red elephants"—so colored because they enthusiastically dust themselves with the iron-rich local soil. The afternoon game drive continues toward landmarks like Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock, where large herds of buffalo, zebras, and various antelopes congregate to drink.

Day 2

Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

Following an early breakfast, the morning starts with a scenic game drive exploring Tsavo East’s geological wonders, including the Yatta Plateau; the world's longest lava flow stretching across 300 kilometers and Lugard Falls, where the Galana River cuts through ancient rock formations into roaring rapids. Afterward, the journey proceeds across the Nairobi-Mombasa highway into Tsavo West National Park. Tsavo West offers a starkly different topography characterized by volcanic cones, rugged hills, and lush vegetation. The afternoon highlight is a visit to Mzima Springs, where millions of liters of crystal-clear water gush from the Chyulu Hills. You can walk along the shaded paths and descend into an underwater glass-tank viewing chamber to watch hippos and crocodiles gliding effortlessly beneath the surface.

Day 3

Tsavo West to Nairobi or Coastal Drop-off

Tsavo West to Nairobi or Coastal Drop-off

The final morning begins with an exhilarating sunrise game drive through the diverse habitats of Tsavo West. You explore the Shetani Lava Flow, a vast, barren expanse of black volcanic rock that erupted only a few centuries ago, offering a dramatic contrast against the green acacia trees. After capturing final photos of the sweeping landscapes and perhaps spotting elusive leopards or grazing giraffes, you enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge. The tour concludes with a check-out and a return drive to Nairobi or a seamless transfer down to the sandy beaches of the Kenyan coast, wrapping up an unforgettable 3-day wilderness escape.
