Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins this morning as you leave the bustle of Arusha behind and head south toward Tarangire National Park. As the landscape opens up, you'll start noticing the giant baobab trees that give this park its unmistakable character some standing for centuries, silent witnesses to the bush around them. Tarangire is famous for its elephants, and it won't take long before you spot your first family group moving unhurried through the golden grass. Along the winding Tarangire River, life gathers: zebra, giraffe, buffalo, and impala share the water's edge, while lions often rest in the shade nearby. Spend the afternoon on a game drive soaking in the rhythm of the bush. Spend the night in the lodge, with the sounds of Africa drifting in as you drift off to sleep.

The transformation is immediate the horizon stretches endlessly, broken only by scattered acacia trees and, depending on the season, the moving mass of the Great Migration. You'll arrive in time for an afternoon game drive, and the Serengeti wastes no time introducing itself: prides of lion resting in the grass, cheetah perched on termite mounds, and the quiet thrill of not knowing what's around the next bend.
