Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the northern savanna tracks of Murchison Falls. Watch for lions, leopards, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeests, and buffaloes in the soft morning light. After lunch, board a three-hour boat safari up the Victoria Nile toward the base of the falls. You will glide past pods of hippos, massive Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, and herds of game coming down to drink. Rise early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a 7:30 AM ranger briefing. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, venture into the dense, ancient canopy of Bwindi in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The hike can range from one to six hours across rugged terrain. Once located, spend a magical, unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, groom, and play just meters away. After trekking, you will drive to beautiful lake Buyonyi for sunset on canoe and relxation.
