Tarangire Elephants and Baobabs

After breakfast, leave Arusha with your private driver-guide and travel to Tarangire National Park. Spend the day on a game drive through baobab country, following the Tarangire River and searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and other plains wildlife. A picnic lunch is served inside the park so the day remains focused on wildlife. In the late afternoon, exit the park and continue to Marera Valley Lodge near Karatu for dinner, a comfortable night and an easier start toward the Serengeti the following morning.

Into Central Serengeti

After breakfast, depart Karatu and travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti. The route is scenic but substantial, so the day is planned without an unnecessary extra park stop. Enter Central Serengeti in the afternoon and begin game viewing as you make your way to camp. Check in at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp, your home for three consecutive nights, followed by dinner and your first evening surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

Today is devoted entirely to Central Serengeti, with no packing, hotel change or long transfer. Your private driver-guide will plan the game drive around current wildlife conditions and your interests. You may leave early with a picnic lunch for an extended day in the field, or follow a more relaxed morning and afternoon rhythm where conditions allow. Search for big cats, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos and abundant plains game before returning to the same camp for dinner and another night in the Serengeti.

More Time in the Serengeti

Enjoy a second full day in Central Serengeti, giving you something a rushed itinerary cannot offer: time. Rather than racing onward after one game drive, your guide can revisit productive areas, follow fresh sightings and explore different habitats across the central plains. The day’s pace remains private and flexible, with a picnic lunch during the game drive. Return to Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camp in the late afternoon for dinner and your third night in the park.

Final Serengeti Drive to Ngorongoro

Begin with a final morning game drive in Central Serengeti before travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife viewing continues along the way, turning the transfer into part of the safari rather than a lost travel day. Arrive at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp on the crater rim in time to settle in, enjoy the highland atmosphere and prepare for an early descent the next morning. Dinner and overnight are included at the camp.

Ngorongoro Crater and Kilimanjaro Airport

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an extended game drive and picnic lunch. Explore the crater floor’s grasslands, woodland and wetlands while searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and, with luck, black rhino. After the game drive, ascend from the crater and travel directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. This final day is best matched with a late-evening departure; earlier flights require an adjusted schedule or an additional night.
