Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Bwindi

Your journey begins with a 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM pickup from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. Before departing for Uganda, explore the heart of Rwanda’s capital. The morning is dedicated to a Kigali City Tour, starting with a poignant visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, where you will learn about Rwanda’s 1994 history and its remarkable journey toward reconciliation.

Continue your exploration with a visit to the bustling Kimironko Market to see local vendors selling colorful artisanal products, crafts, and fresh fruits. Enjoy an authentic Rwandan lunch at a local restaurant or the famous Hotel des Mille Collines. In the afternoon, embark on a scenic 4–5 hour drive, crossing into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border. Arrive in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and an early night.

The Ultimate Gorilla Habituation Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Rushaga park headquarters early in the morning for a specialized briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers and researchers. You will be part of a small group of only four visitors allocated to a semi-habituated gorilla family.

Venture into the dense rainforest to track these magnificent primates. Once found, you will spend an incredible 4 hours in their presence. Unlike standard trekking, the habituation experience allows you to observe researchers as they call out to the gorillas, collect data, and watch the group’s social dynamics up close. After this profound wildlife encounter, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest.

Bwindi Scenic Drive & Departure via Kigali

You will cross the border back into Rwanda, arriving in Kigali in the late afternoon. Your guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your evening flight or at your preferred city hotel.
