Transfer from Entebbe to Mbale

Your professional English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and travel east along the Kampala–Jinja–Mbale Highway through some of Uganda's most scenic countryside through en-route highlights like, Mabira Forest, Jinja (optional stop at the Source of the Nile), Sugarcane plantations, Iganga and Tororo towns, Views of Mount Elgon as you approach Mbale with lunch en route. Arrive in Mbale and check in at accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the swimming pool or exploring Mbale Town. Dinner and overnight!

Kapkwai Gate – Tutum Cave Camp

After an early breakfast, drive to Kapkwai Forest Exploration Centre, the starting point of the Sipi Trail. Meet Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, guides, and porters for registration and a safety briefing. Begin your trek through lush montane forest rich in birdlife and primates which include; Black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, Forest birds, Turacos, Sunbirds among others. The trail gradually ascends through bamboo forest and regenerating woodland before reaching Tutum
Cave Camp. Later, have dinner and overnight at camp.

Tutum Cave Camp – Kajeri Camp

After breakfast, continue ascending through changing vegetation zones. The landscape transitions into giant heather, lobelia, and moorland, with sweeping views over eastern Uganda. Along the way, your guide will explain the ecology and geology of Mount Elgon, one of the world's largest extinct volcanic mountains. Arrive at Kajeri Camp in the afternoon. Spend the evening enjoying the mountain scenery and preparing for the summit day. Retire to you camp after a long day.

Kajeri Camp-Wagagai Peak

Wake up before sunrise for the most exciting day of the expedition. Hike across the spectacular Mount Elgon Caldera, one of the world's largest intact volcanic calderas, passing alpine vegetation and volcanic formations before reaching Wagagai Peak, the highest point on Mount Elgon. Celebrate your summit achievement while enjoying panoramic views across Uganda and Kenya on clear days. After photographs and refreshments, descend via Jackson Pool and continue to Mude Camp.

Descend to Sipi, Abseiling Adventure and Return to Mbale

After breakfast, descend through beautiful forest and moorland to the park exit, where your driver will meet you. Transfer to Sipi Falls for a well-deserved lunch before your afternoon adventure. Sipi Falls Abseiling experience, receive a comprehensive safety briefing from certified instructors before being fitted with helmets, harnesses, and ropes.

Experience an exhilarating descent of approximately 100 metres alongside the dramatic Sipi Falls cliff, with breathtaking views of waterfalls, coffee plantations, and the surrounding valleys. Abseiling at Sipi is one of Uganda's most popular adventure activities. After the activity, freshen up and transfer back to Mbale Resort Hotel for relaxation, or continue your onward journey to Kampala/Entebbe if preferred.
