Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival in Entebbe, perched along the serene shores of Lake Victoria, you’ll immediately sense the tranquillity of this lakeside town. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to Uganda’s birdlife at the Entebbe Botanical Gardens; Our initial sightings may include the Orange Weaver and Red-chested Sunbird, along with numerous other common species. We may also spot the African Grey Parrot, Ross’s Turaco, and Woodland Kingfisher within the environs of Entebbe. This will be a perfect start to your birding adventure. Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, set off for Mabamba Swamp, Uganda’s legendary birding hotspot and a Ramsar-protected wetland. Glide quietly through papyrus channels by canoe in search of the iconic Shoebill Stork, one of Africa’s most sought-after birds. Keep your binoculars ready for several other interesting species including; Papyrus Gonoleks, Blue Swallows (Hirundo atrocaerulea), Papyrus Yellow Warbler (Chloropeta gracilirostris), White-winged Warbler, Greater Swamp-Warblers, Papyrus gonolek, Blue-chested Bee-eaters, Swamp Flycatchers and Malachite Kingfishers before continuing to Jinja Uganda’s adventure capital, which is about a 2–3-hour drive. The journey will take you through the scenic countryside, passing sugarcane and tea plantations. Arrive in Jinja and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or at your accommodation. After lunch, embark on an afternoon boat cruise to the Source of the Nile, the starting point of the world’s longest river. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

We will have breakfast at 8:00am and then make our away between 9:00-9:30am to the briefing point for our whitewater rafting adventure (a five minute journey).
We can do a half or full day on the water. During the half day tour we cover five rapids and on the full day tour we cover eight rapids. This activity does not require experience and lunch is provided. Later mid-morning, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, one of the biggest conservation areas in Uganda. You can expect to see elephants, lions, hyenas, buffaloes, hippopotamus, different types of antelope, birds, warthogs, giraffes, and many, many others!. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4

In the morning, you will go on a game drive in the Delta area, which features the greatest concentration of wildlife in the park. Expect to see many animals. In the afternoon, you will go on an afternoon boat ride along the mighty Nile River to base of the falls. From here you will hike with a park guide to the top, at which point you will meet with your driver-guide and make your way back to the lodge for your overnight stay.

In the morning you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park. En route you will see the rocky historical site near Kyenjojo town. It is here where people go to pray for Uganda’s martyrs and carve their names on rocks. You will also see tea plantations and enjoy great views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Your overnight will be Kibale forest Camp.

Day 6
Chimpanzee trekking and community visits
Chimpanzee trekking and community visits
This is the chimpanzee tracking day in the primate capital of the world—Kibale National Park. After your breakfast, your driver/guide will transfer you to the briefing point before the chimp trek. The experienced ranger guide will take you through a briefing on what to expect and how to conduct yourself in the forest.
After the briefing, you will start the hike through the tropical forest for an unforgettable and rewarding experience in search of man’s closest relatives the chimpanzees. You are allowed one hour in their presence after locating them.
After lunch, you will take a swamp walk in the Bigodi community. Proceeds from this help in community development. In addition to the swamp, you will visit different homes for coffee experience, banana brewing experience, basketry and traditional medicine.

The safari continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Crater Lakes Region (depending on road conditions) and enjoying views of the Rwenzori Mountain Ranges. You have an option of having a late breakfast and then preparing to leave after this.
You have an option of a free afternoon at your lodge where you can choose to relax and rest. Alternatively, you can choose to take a game drive through the park before proceeding to your lodge or you can take an afternoon village walk around your lodge.

Africa is home to a vast, unrivaled number of species living in the wild. Queen Elizabeth National Park has the highest biodiversity of any protected area in Africa. The best time for game viewing is morning when the predators are looking out for prey and before they go back into hiding. You will be using a car that allows the roof to top up so the opportunities of watching the game are maximized. You will enjoy sightings of exotic and rare species including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel—towards Lake Edward where you will watch different wild animals that come to its waters and those that live therein and numerous species of birds.

Ishasha is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. After their meals, these predators like to climb fig trees to rest and experience the winds but also easily watch their prey because of the high savanna grass. Today morning after a late breakfast, you will leave for Ishasha to see lions, different bird species and other mammals.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a late breakfast, you will leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—the home of half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you missed seeing the lions the previous day, you can choose to do another game drive through the park to try another opportunity of sighting the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.

The ultimate safari experience in the ‘jungles of Africa’, spending the day with the gigantic gentle mountain gorillas. The adventure of hiking through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of gorillas is a unique experience. You will start with a briefing from the ranger guides after which you are divided into groups to track different gorilla families.
You will then hike the forest in search of the gorillas with leading from the ranger guide. Once you locate the gorillas with your ranger/guide, you will observe them for an hour after which you will start the walk out of the forest. Later in the evening if you still feel relaxed you will go for a batwa experience where you get to learn how they used to live in the forest.

Day 12

Transfer to lake bunyonyi
Depart for Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast, the second-deepest lake in Africa. The lake is dotted with small islands with steep sides and terraced shores. You can go canoeing in locally-made canoes, swim, or just sunbathe. It’s a favorite stop for birders.
You will check out several islands like Bwama Island which is good for birders. Otherwise, you can take a nature walk along the shore on one of the islands and appreciate the variety of small birds or just relax.

Day 13

After breakfast, you will have to check out of the lodge and the guide will transfer you to Lake Mburo National Park. The park contains several bird species and the green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like zebra, warthog, eland, and impala among others.

Walking Safari -Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator

After breakfast, have a walking safari before driving back to Entebbe. You will have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. Have another stop at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations. You will be taken to the airport for your departure.
