Day 1

Arusha

Arusha

One of our guides from Chalema Tanzania Safaris will meet you at your hotel early in the morning for a short briefing. Thereafter, we’ll head out toward the far-reaching plains of the Serengeti. We’ll be traveling for approximately four hours, but much of that time will be spent exploring the wildlife-rich environment of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

When we reach Serengeti National Park, we’ll concentrate our game drives in the Ndutu region of the southern plains, famous for its year-round population of predators. The Ndutu area also hosts the stunning wildebeest and zebra migration each year from December to March. This means you’ll have the rare opportunity to witness newborn wildebeest taking their first steps, sometimes just minutes after they are born.

Later this evening, we’ll settle in at Ndutu Mobile Camp, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 2

Ndutu

Ndutu

The spectacle of the Great Migration is the star of the show in the Serengeti, and the wildebeest synchronize their calving between December and March, resulting in thousands of calves being born each year. Thousands of wildebeest calves are born every day during this period, and this sudden influx of vulnerable prey tends to attract the big cats of the Serengeti—lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

We’ll spend half the day exploring the park, stopping for an early picnic lunch with a view of the herds before beginning our journey to Arusha. We expect to arrive in Arusha in the late evening and drop you at your hotel. We’re proud that you’ve chosen Chalema Tanzania Safaris to be your guide to the Northern Circuit, and we hope you’ll be in touch when you’re ready for another unforgettable Tanzania safari.
