Day 1-3

Time and Tide Mchenja

Time and Tide Mchenja

Fly into the legendary South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.
Over the next 3 nights, the beautifully positioned Mchenja camp offers an authentic safari experience surrounded by some of Zambia’s richest wildlife country.

Explore the park on morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities to encounter elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, wild dogs, lions and the elusive leopard. South Luangwa is particularly renowned for its exceptional leopard sightings and incredible concentration of wildlife around the river and seasonal lagoons.

For those seeking a more immersive experience, a guided walking safari offers the chance to discover the smaller details of the African bush — tracks, birds, plants and signs of wildlife — while experiencing the wilderness on foot. At Mchenja, the emphasis is on intimacy, wilderness and genuine safari adventure, away from the crowds.

Time+Tide Chongwe

After the wildlife-rich plains of South Luangwa, your journey continues to the spectacular Lower Zambezi National Park.
The Lower Zambezi is renowned for its combination of land and water-based safari, giving guests the opportunity to experience Africa from a completely different perspective. Mornings can begin with a game drive as the bush comes alive, searching for elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and the many species that inhabit the valley. The area is particularly famous for its large herds of elephant, often seen moving along the riverbanks or coming down to drink.

Spend time canoeing along the Zambezi, drifting quietly past pods of hippos and crocodiles while elephants gather along the shoreline. Enjoy a leisurely boat safari, perhaps stopping for a spectacular Zambezi sunset, with the river stretching endlessly into the horizon and opportunity to try your hand at tiger fishing, while walking safaris provide a more intimate way to connect with the surrounding wilderness.
