You'll be picked up from your hotel at 8 am and begin a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley for a full-day game drive. Although relatively small in size (205 sq miles), the park offers stunning landscapes and is known for its lush acacia woodlands, giant fig trees, and impressive baobabs. The park is home to giraffes, elephants, impalas, and large herds of elephants and buffaloes. In the afternoon, you'll return to the lodge for dinner.

Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park

Understand why its name means "endless plains" in the local language. Covering 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq kilometers), the vast grasslands seem to stretch endlessly toward the horizon, challenging your sense of distance and scale. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, with around 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and numerous species of antelopes. It is also an exceptional destination for spotting big cats and other predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Many iconic wildlife scenes, including the famous river crossings, have been filmed in this remarkable park.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highland

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Highland

On this day, we recommend an early wake-up for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active, and to enjoy one of the most spectacular sunrises you’ll ever see. After the game drive, we’ll return to camp for a rewarding brunch before heading to Ngorongoro, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. The crater covers 102 sq miles and has 2,000-ft high walls, making it like Noah’s ark and home to almost every wildlife species native to East Africa. It is also one of the few places on the continent where you can spot the black rhino. The crater features a river, several swamps, a soda lake filled with flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also renowned for its elephants, which are among the largest in the world with enormous tusks. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. You’ll arrive in Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner.
