Day 1

Arusha - Southern Serengeti National Park

Arusha - Southern Serengeti National Park

Your safari begins with an early pickup from your accommodation in Arusha. Together with your professional guide, you will drive toward the Southern Serengeti and the Ndutu area, carrying packed lunch boxes for the journey. Upon arrival, begin your first game drive through this remarkable wildlife region, searching for the Great Migration herds and resident predators.

Ndutu is one of Tanzania’s most spectacular areas for experiencing the migration cycle. From December, the returning herds gather across the green plains, followed by the calving season in January and February, when thousands of newborn wildebeest arrive. As the rains end and the grass becomes drier, the herds gradually move onward to continue their incredible journey.

After your game drive, you will head to your camp inside the Southern Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Southern Serengeti National Park - Karatu

Begin your morning with an early breakfast before heading out for an exciting game drive across the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu area. The early hours offer excellent opportunities to observe wildlife at its most active, with the migration herds spread across the open plains and predators often on the move.

Ndutu is a remarkable destination for experiencing the Great Migration throughout the year. From December, the herds return to the fresh green plains, followed by the spectacular calving season in January and February, when thousands of wildebeest give birth. As the rainy season comes to an end and the grass begins to dry, the herds gradually move toward their next destination.

Later in the afternoon, leave the Southern Serengeti behind and continue to Karatu, a peaceful town near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, conveniently positioned for your early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater the following morning.

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After breakfast, you will make your way to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable morning game drive. Descend into this vast volcanic caldera and explore its rich ecosystem, where wildlife gathers across the crater floor. Keep your eyes open for buffalo, lions, elephants, cheetahs, and the rare black rhino, along with hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife, including flamingos and birds of prey.

Known as one of Africa’s natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife throughout the year. The compact nature of the crater makes it possible to encounter an impressive variety of animals within a relatively short time.

After completing your game drive, ascend from the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at Arusha Clock Tower, where your unforgettable 3-day safari comes to an end.
