Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

6:30 AM: Pick-up from Nairobi hotel/airport.
- Embark on a scenic drive north via the Mt. Kenya region, with a short stop for photos and refreshments.

12:30 PM: Arrive at Samburu National Reserve.
- Welcome drink, lodge/camp check‑in and orientation briefing.

1:00 PM: Lunch overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River.

2:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Afternoon game drive.
- Leave the lodge for an afternoon game drive in search of Samburu’s “Special Five” and big cats along the riverbanks.
- Drive across acacia‑dotted plains and rugged hills.
- Follow the Ewaso Nyiro River, a lifeline for wildlife.
- Spot elephants gathering at the riverbanks.
- Look out for crocodiles basking on sandy shores.
- Track Samburu’s “Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk (long-necked antelope browsing upright), Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich.

5:00 PM: Return to lodge for leisure, dinner and overnight stay under Samburu’s starry skies.
