Begin your journey with a drive from Addis Ababa toward the Bale Mountains. Travel through the changing landscapes of the Ethiopian highlands, with opportunities to stop for scenic views and wildlife along the way.
Continue to the Bale region and arrive in the Goba/Dinsho area in the afternoon. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short wildlife drive or nature walk around the park.

Day 2
Dinsho Wildlife Area
Dinsho Wildlife Area
Spend the morning exploring the Dinsho area of Bale Mountains National Park, one of the best places to look for Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck, Warthog, Ethiopian wolf and Bale monkey.
Continue through the beautiful highland landscapes while looking for endemic birds and other wildlife. Your local wildlife guide will help identify species and explain the unique ecology of the Bale Mountains.

Day 3
Senetti Plateau- Ethiopian wolf-Giant Mole- rat
Senetti Plateau- Ethiopian wolf-Giant Mole- rat
Today is the main wildlife expedition. Drive onto the spectacular Senetti Plateau, reaching elevations of more than 4,000 meters.
Spend the day searching for the Ethiopian wolf, Africa’s rarest carnivore. The open Afro-alpine landscape also provides excellent opportunities to observe giant mole-rats, which are an important food source for Ethiopian wolves.
Take time for wildlife photography and enjoy the dramatic high-altitude scenery before returning to your accommodation.

Day 4
Senetti Plateue and Harena Forest
Senetti Plateue and Harena Forest
Return to the Bale highlands for another dedicated wildlife-viewing day. Continue searching for Ethiopian wolves and other endemic species, with additional opportunities for photography and birdwatching.
Later, descend toward the Harenna Forest, one of Ethiopia’s largest remaining natural forests. Explore the forest edge and surrounding habitats, where the environment changes dramatically from the open Sanetti Plateau.
Possible sightings include Bale monkeys, birds of prey, endemic highland birds and other forest species.

Day 5
Bale Mountains - Addis Ababa
Bale Mountains - Addis Ababa
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy the changing scenery of the Ethiopian highlands and make stops along the way for photographs and local experiences.
Arrive in Addis Ababa in the afternoon or evening, marking the end of your Bale Mountains Wildlife Expedition.
