3-Day Mikumi Wildlife Escape from Dar Es Saalam

Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or preferred location in Dar es Salaam and a transfer to the SGR station for your safari to Mikumi. Upon arrival in Morogoro, depart in a private 4x4 safari vehicle and drive to Mikumi National Park. The journey takes you through Tanzania's changing landscapes, local villages and countryside.

Upon arrival in Mikumi, proceed for an afternoon game drive. Explore the park's open plains and surrounding woodland while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, impalas and other wildlife.

As the afternoon progresses, continue exploring the park before heading to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Mikumi Game Drive

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Explore the famous Mkata Floodplain, one of the park's most productive wildlife areas. Your professional safari guide will select the best routes based on wildlife movements and recent sightings.

Keep your eyes open for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, impalas and other wildlife. Mikumi is also home to a variety of bird species, making the park excellent for both wildlife viewing and photography.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with afternoon game viewing. Later in the afternoon, return to Camp Bastian for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Morning Game Drive / Optional Maasai Visit

After breakfast, enjoy a final safari experience before departing Mikumi. An optional Maasai cultural experience can be arranged, offering an opportunity to learn about Maasai traditions, culture, and daily life.

After the experience, transfer by road to the SGR railway station to board the train to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy a comfortable journey by SGR while taking in the changing scenery along the way.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, meet your driver and transfer to your preferred drop-off point, marking the end of your 3-day Mikumi safari adventure.
