Transfer to Musanze for golden monkey trekking and Bwindi impenetrable national park

At 4:30 AM, Umurage Eco Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali after an early breakfast. You will then begin the scenic journey to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda’s northwest, a drive of just over 2 1/2 hours.

Upon arrival at the park headquarters in Kinigi around 7:30 AM, you will receive your golden monkey trekking briefing and be assigned a group you will visit. A park ranger will explain the guidelines and protocols for trekking and observing the golden monkeys. After the briefing, your driver-guide will transfer you to the starting point of your trek.

Your trek will take you through the forest in search of your assigned golden monkeys. Once you meet them, you will spend a magical hour observing and photographing these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

After the trek, you will stop by Musanze for lunch then later cross the boarder to Bwindi impenetrable national park to check into your hotel.
