Your safari begins with a morning pickup in Kigali. Meet your Ripple Safaris driver-guide and travel north toward Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, rolling green hills, terraced farms and vibrant villages along the way. As you approach Musanze, the magnificent Virunga Mountains rise into view, creating a spectacular backdrop.
Continue to the Volcanoes National Park area, home to endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. After arrival, check into your lodge and relax. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a short walk or optional community experience. Your guide will brief you about the next day’s golden monkey trek and help you prepare for an early start.

Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing. Begin your golden monkey trekking adventure through the beautiful Virunga forest. Watch these endangered primates as they leap through bamboo branches, feed, groom and interact naturally in their habitat. Your guides will share insights about the forest and help you capture memorable moments.
After the trek, return for refreshments before crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border. Continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery along the way. Arrive at Mucha Lodge, check in and relax.
Your guide will brief you about the next day’s gorilla trek, including the terrain, clothing and safety guidelines. Enjoy dinner and an early rest before your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience.

Wake up early and have breakfast before heading to the gorilla trekking briefing point. Meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and trackers for a safety briefing before entering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The trek can involve steep slopes, dense vegetation and challenging terrain as you search for your assigned gorilla family.
Once you locate the gorillas, enjoy an unforgettable encounter as they feed, groom, rest and interact naturally in their forest habitat. Your guides will explain their behavior while ensuring you follow the official trekking guidelines.
After the trek, return to the starting point, meet your driver-guide and begin the scenic transfer back to Kigali. Enjoy views of the beautiful countryside along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped at your hotel, residence or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
