Wake up to the beauty of the Serengeti and enjoy a morning game drive in Central Serengeti before continuing toward the Ndutu area. This journey takes you deeper into the Southern Serengeti ecosystem, where the landscapes become increasingly open and the short-grass plains provide an important feeding and calving ground for the migrating herds.

As you approach Ndutu, begin looking for signs of the Great Migration. Depending on the movement of the herds, you may encounter large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra spread across the plains, together with predators following the migration.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive around Ndutu, your first opportunity to experience the calving-season environment. As the sun sets over the plains, continue to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay in the Ndutu area.

During the calving season, the plains become a vast natural nursery as thousands of wildebeest calves are born. You may witness mothers caring for their young, newborn calves taking their first steps and huge herds gathering across the short grasslands.

The abundance of newborn animals also attracts predators, making Ndutu particularly exciting for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. Keep watch for lions, cheetahs and hyenas moving through the plains in search of opportunities. With the flexibility of a full day in the area, your guide can follow wildlife activity and explore different parts of Ndutu without rushing.

After your Ndutu exploration, gradually make your way toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The landscape changes as you leave the open plains behind and approach the highlands surrounding the Ngorongoro region.
