Arrive in Entebbe and meet your driver-guide for the journey north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Join rangers on an included guided walk to track southern white rhinos in their protected habitat. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at the top of the falls where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge. Settle into the lodge, enjoy dinner and prepare for the wildlife experiences ahead.

Day 2
Game Drives and a Nile Cruise
Game Drives and a Nile Cruise
Set out early for a game drive across Murchison Falls National Park, searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, lions and, with luck, leopards. After breakfast, take an included boat cruise on the Nile toward the base of the falls. Watch for hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife along the banks, then return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation and dinner.

Day 3
Murchison to Kibale Forest

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park before travelling south through changing Ugandan landscapes toward Kibale. Stop for lunch en route and take part in an included Tooro cultural experience, learning about local traditions, coffee preparation and dance. Arrive in the rainforest region in the afternoon, check into the lodge and enjoy dinner surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

This morning, enter Kibale Forest with experienced rangers for an included chimpanzee trek. Follow forest trails in search of habituated chimpanzees and observe their behaviour in their natural habitat. After a picnic lunch, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where savannah landscapes, the Kazinga Channel and outstanding wildlife viewing await. Check into the lodge and enjoy dinner.

Safari, Salt Lake and Kazinga
Begin with an early game drive across the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, looking for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and big cats. Visit Katwe Salt Lake to learn about traditional salt harvesting, then enjoy lunch before joining an included boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Observe hippos, Nile crocodiles and waterbirds at close range. Later continue to the Ishasha area for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Ishasha and Bwindi Highlands
After breakfast, explore the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions and open fig-tree savannah. Enjoy a final game drive and picnic lunch before travelling south into the green highlands of Bwindi. Arrive near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the worlds remaining mountain gorillas, and settle into the lodge for dinner.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Today is dedicated to an included mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a briefing, follow Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and trackers through the ancient forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek may be demanding and its duration depends on the gorillas movements. Once located, spend one unforgettable hour quietly observing them before returning to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 8
Rwanda Culture and Lake Kivu

After breakfast, leave Uganda and cross into Rwanda, the Land of a Thousand Hills. Stop at Red Rocks Cultural Centre in Musanze for an included community experience with local women, including traditional banana-beer making and basket weaving. Continue after lunch to the peaceful shores of Lake Kivu. Check into the lodge, relax beside the lake and enjoy dinner overlooking the water.

Relaxing at Lake Kivu
Enjoy a full day at Lake Kivu, one of Africas most scenic Great Lakes. Relax at the lodge, swim, or choose optional activities at an additional cost such as kayaking, a boat trip to nearby islands, a guided community walk or time in the lakeside town of Gisenyi. The day is unhurried and provides a welcome contrast to the wildlife and trekking experiences of the journey. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge.

Kigali Memorial and Departure
Kigali Memorial and Departure
After breakfast, travel through Rwandas rolling hills, tea-growing areas and rural villages to Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important place of remembrance and learning that provides context for Rwandas history and reconciliation. Depending on the international flight schedule, enjoy time to freshen up and have dinner before the included transfer to Kigali International Airport. The tour ends with departure arrangements.
