Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, travel through Uganda’s changing landscapes of lively towns, tea plantations and lush countryside towards Kibale National Park. After lunch en route, enjoy an authentic Tooro cultural experience: learn local traditions, roast coffee beans, prepare traditional beverages and join lively dances. This morning, join experienced guides for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. Venture into the rainforest in search of chimpanzees and observe them feeding, playing and communicating high in the canopy. After a picnic lunch, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the next stage of this wildlife adventure begins.

Day 3
Game drive and Kazinga Channel cruise
Game drive and Kazinga Channel cruise
Begin with an early morning game drive across the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to elephants, buffalo, antelopes and, with luck, lions and leopards. Visit Katwe Salt Lake, where local families harvest salt using traditional methods. After lunch, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, renowned for hippos, Nile crocodiles and colourful birdlife.

Day 4
Ishasha sector to Bwindi
Ishasha sector to Bwindi
After breakfast, travel through the Ishasha sector, one of the few places in Africa where tree-climbing lions may be seen resting in giant fig trees. Enjoy a final game drive and picnic lunch before continuing into south-western Uganda’s rolling hills to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, an ancient rainforest and sanctuary to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Mountain gorilla trekking
Mountain gorilla trekking
Today is the journey’s highlight: trek through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and experienced trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take from one to eight hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once located, spend one unforgettable hour quietly observing these extraordinary primates in their natural habitat, then return to the lodge to rest.

Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, leave the mist-covered mountains of Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park and the only one with large zebra populations. After lunch at the lodge, experience the park from a different perspective on a guided walking safari, observing wildlife at ground level while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Lake Mburo to Entebbe
Lake Mburo to Entebbe
Start with a final morning game drive through Lake Mburo National Park for a last opportunity to spot giraffes, zebras, impalas and other wildlife. Return to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for lunch and photographs at the Northern and Southern Hemisphere crossing. Depending on the international flight schedule, there is time to freshen up, enjoy dinner and transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
