Into Africa's Largest Intact Caldera
After breakfast at your accommodation in the Ngorongoro Highlands, you will prepare with your packed lunch and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive.
Often described as one of Africa’s natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater was formed millions of years ago following the collapse of a massive volcano. Today, its fertile crater floor supports an incredible concentration of wildlife, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to experience a wide variety of animals in a relatively small area.
During your game drive, you may spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and, with some luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. The crater is also home to numerous bird species and offers spectacular scenery throughout the day.
After an unforgettable wildlife experience, you will ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha and you will be dropped off at your hotel or Airport.
