Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and community experience

Depart from Kigali or Entebbe/Kampala and drive toward southwestern Uganda. The journey takes you through rolling hills, local communities and beautiful countryside. If starting from Kigali, the border crossing at Cyanika or Katuna provides relatively quick access to the Bwindi region.

Arrive at your lodge near the gorilla trekking sector and spend the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the following day's trek.

Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. Your trek then begins in the dense Bwindi forest, accompanied by experienced trackers and guides.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend the permitted viewing time observing them as they feed, climb, rest and interact within the forest.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later, travel toward Lake Bunyonyi and enjoy the spectacular views of the lake and its numerous islands.

Relaxation Breakfast & Departure

After breakfast, start on the long drive back to Entebbe / Kampala with the memory of the great rare mountain apes. Have lunch en route and a stopover at the equator line for experimentation. You'll be arriving late in the evening to be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport at approximately 6:00 pm hence you have to book an evening flight!
