Begin your safari with a morning flight from Nairobi to Samburu, enjoying scenic aerial views of Kenya’s changing landscapes. Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and transfer to your lodge or camp. After lunch and time to settle in, head out for your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Explore the dramatic landscapes while looking out for elephants, lions, leopards, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras and other wildlife. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day safari through Samburu National Reserve, exploring its open plains, rocky terrain and riverine areas. Keep an eye out for the region’s famous Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. Enjoy lunch at the lodge before continuing with your afternoon game drive. As the sun begins to set, stop at a scenic location for a memorable sundowner while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness before returning to camp for dinner.

Day 3
Community Conservancy & Village Visit
Community Conservancy & Village Visit
After breakfast, venture into a nearby community conservancy for a guided nature walk accompanied by a local guide. Discover the area's indigenous plants, birdlife, wildlife tracks and smaller creatures while learning how local communities conserve and coexist with the natural environment. Later, visit a traditional Samburu village for an authentic cultural experience. Meet members of the community, learn about their traditions and daily way of life, and experience traditional songs, dances and beadwork. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at camp.

Day 4
Buffalo Springs National Reserve
Buffalo Springs National Reserve
After breakfast, cross over to Buffalo Springs National Reserve for a full-day game-viewing experience. Explore the reserve’s scenic landscapes, natural springs and wildlife-rich plains, with opportunities to see elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch or return to the lodge for lunch before continuing your afternoon exploration. As the day comes to an end, return to the lodge for dinner and your final overnight stay in Samburu.

Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed final morning at the lodge before checking out. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to enjoy the camp surroundings or take a short nature experience. Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi Wilson Airport. Upon arrival in Nairobi, your 5-day Samburu safari comes to an end.
