Windhoek to Etosha National Park

Your guide will collect you from your Windhoek accommodation in the morning. After a short safari briefing, travel north through the towns of Okahandja, Otjiwarongo and Outjo towards Etosha National Park.

Enjoy lunch before entering the park through Anderson Gate. Your first game drive will take place as you travel towards Okaukuejo Resort. Etosha’s open plains and natural waterholes provide opportunities to encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife.

After checking in at Okaukuejo, enjoy time to relax or visit the resort’s famous waterhole. This is one of Etosha’s most productive wildlife-viewing locations, where animals may arrive throughout the afternoon and evening. After dinner, guests can return to the waterhole and watch the nocturnal activity at their leisure.

Etosha National Park

Depart with your private guide for a full day of wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park. The morning hours are often especially rewarding, as animals are active and gather around the waterholes before the heat of the day.
Etosha is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, black and white rhinos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and several antelope species. The open plains also provide excellent opportunities to observe smaller animals and Etosha’s abundant birdlife.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at one of the designated rest areas inside the park. Continue game viewing during the afternoon before returning to Okaukuejo with sufficient time to relax and freshen up.

After an early dinner, join a ranger-led Etosha night drive in an open safari vehicle.
Return to Okaukuejo after the excursion and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Etosha National Park back to Windhoek

Enjoy breakfast at Okaukuejo and take the opportunity to visit the floodlit waterhole one final time. Depending on the planned departure time, there may be time for a short morning game drive before leaving Etosha through Anderson Gate.

Travel south through Outjo and Otjiwarongo, stopping for refreshments and lunch along the way. Continue towards Windhoek, where your guide will drop you off at your accommodation or another prearranged location during the late afternoon.

Guests travelling onward may be dropped at Hosea Kutako International Airport, provided their flight departs in the evening. Your guide will assist with the luggage before saying farewell, marking the end of your private Etosha safari.
