Johannesburg to Hazy View - Kruger Park Lodge

Our family safari begins with an early morning collection from your hotel, residence or O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Travel through the scenic landscapes of Mpumalanga towards Hazyview, conveniently situated near Kruger National Park.

On arrival, check in at Kruger Park Lodge, where the family will spend three nights. The resort offers spacious self-catering chalets with modern African tastes, providing families with additional space, privacy and flexibility. Kruger Park Lodge also features its own golf course, together with leisure facilities that can be enjoyed during your free time.

Later, meet your guide and depart in an open safari vehicle for your first afternoon Kruger National Park safari. Begin searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope and the famous Big Five while experiencing the African bush as a family.

After the safari, return to Kruger Park Lodge. Dinner is at your own cost at one of the restaurants around Hazyview.

Kruger National Park safari

Wake up early and prepare for your first full-day safari in Kruger National Park. A packed breakfast will be provided for the family to enjoy during a scheduled stop inside the park.

Travel through Kruger in an open safari vehicle with an experienced guide, exploring different habitats and wildlife areas throughout the day. Your guide will help the family search for the Big Five and other animals including giraffes, zebras, hippos, wildebeest and numerous antelope species. The experience also gives younger travellers an opportunity to learn about African wildlife, conservation and the natural environment.

Comfort and refreshment stops will be made during the safari. Lunch can be purchased at one of the restaurants or rest camps inside Kruger National Park and is at your own cost.

Return to Kruger Park Lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the resort facilities.

In the evening, transport will be arranged to a restaurant around Hazyview for dinner. Dinner is at your own cost.

Kruger National Park safari

Start another exciting day with an early departure for your second full-day Kruger National Park safari. A packed breakfast will once again be provided, allowing you to maximise your time exploring the park during the productive early morning wildlife-viewing hours.

Your guide will explore different routes and areas of Kruger, providing the family with another opportunity to discover the incredible diversity of the national park. Every safari is different, and today's drive offers another chance to search for lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo, together with giraffes, zebras, monkeys, hippos and other wildlife.

Enjoy regular comfort stops during the day, with lunch available at one of Kruger's rest camps or restaurants at your own cost.

Return to Kruger Park Lodge later in the afternoon. Relax at your self-catering chalet, enjoy the resort surroundings or spend some family time around the lodge before dinner.

Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Johannesburg

Your final day begins early with a morning game drive in Kruger National Park. A packed breakfast will be provided for you to enjoy during a scheduled stop inside the park.

Take in the fresh morning air and enjoy one final opportunity to search for Kruger's wildlife. The cooler morning hours can provide rewarding sightings as animals move through the bush. Keep your cameras ready for elephants, giraffes, antelope, buffalo and perhaps one final encounter with one of Kruger's famous predators.

After your morning safari, return to Kruger Park Lodge to collect your luggage before beginning the road journey back to Johannesburg with Africa Moja Tours & Safaris.

Relax during the drive as you travel from Mpumalanga back towards Gauteng. Arrival is expected later in the afternoon or early evening, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Guests can choose to be dropped off at their Johannesburg hotel or residence, or O.R. Tambo International Airport for their onward journey.
