Journey to Bwindi Forest

Leave Entebbe with your private driver-guide and travel southwest through Uganda’s changing countryside toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Stop for lunch along the route and continue through the terraced highlands, passing farms, villages and scenic viewpoints. Arrive near the rainforest in the late afternoon, settle into your comfortable mid-range lodge and receive a briefing about the following day’s mountain gorilla trek before dinner.

Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, continue to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by expert rangers. Enter Bwindi’s rainforest for the included gorilla trekking activity in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family; the trek may take several hours depending on their location. Spend the permitted time observing and photographing the gorillas, enjoy a packed lunch and return through the forest to your lodge for a relaxed evening and dinner.

After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel through the highlands to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic freshwater lakes. Enjoy panoramic views of its many islands, steep terraced hills and calm waters, with time to relax beside the lake and learn about the surrounding communities. Settle into your comfortable mid-range lodge overlooking the landscape, enjoy lunch and spend a peaceful afternoon before dinner.

Continue to Kigali in the afternoon for drop-off at your agreed hotel or the airport, where this four-day journey across Uganda and Rwanda ends.
