Kigali - Volcanoes National Park | Gorilla Trekking

04h30: Early morning check-out. Collect your pre-booked packed breakfast boxes from reception and depart with your driver-guide for Volcanoes National Park Headquarters, arriving at approximately 06h45. Enjoy a complimentary Rwandan bourbon coffee before the 07h00 gorilla trekking briefing and allocation of a gorilla family suited to your fitness level. Trek through bamboo and montane forest with trackers, wardens and other travellers; each trekking group is limited to 8 guests. Once you reach the gorillas, spend one unforgettable hour observing them feeding, playing, grooming and interacting under the watchful presence of a silverback. After the trek, descend and rejoin your driver-guide before continuing to your lodge for check-in and lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, resting after the trek. Dinner and overnight.

08h30: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before setting out for an authentic Rwandan village experience. Spend time with the local community, discovering everyday life, traditions and customs while experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the Rwandan people. Return to the lodge for lunch, with time to freshen up and relax before check-out.
Begin your scenic journey back to Kigali through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside. En route, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund for a self-guided tour. Learn about mountain gorilla conservation, ongoing research and the remarkable legacy of Dian Fossey, as well as efforts to protect gorillas and their habitat. Afterwards, continue to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight.
