Day 1

Depart early from Arusha for a drive to Marangu Gate on Mount Kilimanjaro. Complete registration formalities before beginning your trek through dense tropical rainforest. Look out for blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and exotic bird species along the trail. Reach Mandara Hut (2,700m) for a break and picnic lunch, then take an optional walk to Maundi Crater for views of the surrounding landscapes. Descend back to Marangu Gate, where your driver meets you for the return transfer to Arusha for the evening.

Depart Arusha before dawn and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters down into the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater floor for an incredible full-morning game drive. Search for black rhinos, lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, wildebeests, and hippos around Lake Magadi. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending out of the caldera in the afternoon. Begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving by early evening to wrap up your safari experience.
