Nairobi to Maasai Mara | Your safari begins

Your Maasai Mara adventure begins with a morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or the agreed meeting point. Travel through the Great Rift Valley, pausing at a viewpoint before continuing to Miti Mingi Eco Camp. After lunch and check-in, head into the reserve for your first game drive in a shared pop-up-roof 4x4. Watch the plains open around you as your driver-guide looks for grazing herds, giraffes, elephants and predators. Every sighting is different, and your guide will help you understand the animals and landscape rather than simply drive past them. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and your first overnight stay. The included afternoon drive makes your arrival day part of the safari, while tomorrow gives you a full day to explore. Lunch, dinner and park entry for this drive are included.

Mara Full Game Drive

Wake up to a full day in the Maasai Mara, with time to explore beyond the routes covered on your arrival afternoon. After breakfast, leave camp in your shared pop-up-roof 4x4 with a packed lunch. Your driver-guide will choose a route based on conditions and wildlife activity, stopping when there is something worth watching. Look for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelope and big cats across the grasslands and near the waterways. Sightings cannot be guaranteed, but the day is planned around unhurried game viewing and time to appreciate the smaller details as well as the famous animals. Pause for your packed lunch at a suitable location, then continue exploring before returning to Miti Mingi Eco Camp for dinner and your second night. A balloon safari or Maasai village visit can be arranged in advance at additional cost, subject to availability. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and park entry are included.

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast at Miti Mingi Eco Camp, check out and travel back towards Nairobi with your driver-guide. As the scenery changes from the Mara’s open landscapes to the Great Rift Valley, enjoy a final look at the countryside and the memories made during your game drives. Stop along the route for the lunch included in your tour, then continue to your agreed Nairobi drop-off point. Arrival is usually later in the day and depends on traffic and road conditions, so please allow enough time before any onward journey. Your safari concludes in Nairobi after two nights near the reserve and a full day devoted to exploring it. Breakfast and lunch are included today. There is no game drive on the return day. Airport transfers and an additional overnight stay can be arranged separately on request at extra cost.
