Kigali Airport Pickup and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your adventure begins with pickup from Kigali International Airport by your guide. After meeting your driver-guide, begin the journey towards Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Enjoy the scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, passing rolling hills, farms and local communities along the way. Upon arrival in the Volcanoes National Park area, check in at your accommodation and relax. You may have time to explore the surrounding area or enjoy the peaceful views of the Virunga Mountains. Have dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for your gorilla trekking experience the following morning.

Gorilla Trekking and Border Crossing to Uganda

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Enter Volcanoes National Park with experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trek through the forest while enjoying the beautiful scenery and diverse vegetation. Once you locate the gorillas, spend the permitted time observing them in their natural environment. After the trek, return to your accommodation, refresh and have lunch before beginning your journey towards the Rwanda-Uganda border. Complete the border formalities and continue into Uganda, arriving near Bwindi or your overnight accommodation.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Return Journey to Kigali

Start the day early with a transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park trekking point for your second gorilla trekking experience. After a briefing, enter the forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated gorilla family. Spend time observing the gorillas in their natural habitat before leaving the forest. After the trek, begin your return journey towards Rwanda. Cross the Uganda-Rwanda border and continue through the scenic countryside towards Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will take you directly to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your safari.
