Arrival in Arusha
Arrival in Arusha
Transfer privately to Arusha and settle into your hotel. The arrival day is intentionally relaxed, giving you time to recover from your journey before the safari begins.
Meet your safari representative for a detailed briefing based on current migration reports and your confirmed travel dates. As the Western Serengeti covers a large area, your camp and airstrip will be selected according to seasonal conditions and the most practical access point.
Your guide will review tomorrow’s departure time, luggage arrangements, dietary preferences, and any confirmed optional activities. For photographers, there is also time to discuss light direction, vehicle positioning, and time needed for sightings. The evening is free for dinner and rest.

Fly to Western Serengeti from Arusha
Fly from Arusha to the most suitable airstrip in Western Serengeti, selected according to your confirmed travel dates and current conditions. Meet your guide and begin an afternoon game drive through riverine woodland, open savannah, and the Grumeti ecosystem.
The guide will assess recent rainfall, wildlife activity, and herd movements to plan the following days. While the Grumeti River is an important feature of the region, migration crossings are natural events and cannot be scheduled or guaranteed.
Enjoy a picnic for longer circuits or return to camp when wildlife activity is closer. Your route and timing remain flexible, allowing the guide to respond to changing conditions.

Western Serengeti river country
Start early and explore the river systems and surrounding plains of Western Serengeti. During the migration season, large herds of wildebeest and zebra may gather in the area, while resident elephants, giraffes, and predators remain important throughout the year.
Travel in a private vehicle with a picnic lunch, allowing you to spend more time in productive areas without rushing back to camp. Your guide will adapt the route according to rainfall, wildlife activity, and current herd movements.
The Grumeti River remains a key feature, but crossings are natural events and cannot be predicted. For photographers, the guide can assist with vehicle positioning and allow time for careful observation and photography.

Full game drive in Western corridor
Explore a different sector of Western Serengeti, using the previous day’s sightings, fresh tracks, rainfall, and current wildlife activity to shape the route. The western corridor offers a mix of woodland, open plains, and river systems, with opportunities to see both migrating herds and resident wildlife.
The Grumeti River remains an important feature, but wildlife crossings are natural and unpredictable, so they cannot be scheduled or guaranteed. Enjoy a relaxed picnic or return to camp for lunch before heading out again in the late afternoon, when softer light creates excellent conditions for viewing and photography.
Your guide will keep the day flexible, adjusting timing and routes as conditions change.

Western Serengeti to Central Serengeti
Travel toward Central Serengeti, following the changing landscape from the western woodlands and river systems into the open plains and rocky kopjes of the central region. Carry a picnic lunch and treat the journey as a full wildlife day, stopping whenever conditions and sightings make it worthwhile.
As you approach Seronera, your guide will adapt the route to current wildlife activity, allowing time to observe resident animals and, when present, migrating herds. Central Serengeti supports wildlife year-round, so the focus remains on natural behaviour rather than relying solely on migration movements.
Arrive in Seronera during the afternoon and settle into camp for your final night in the central region.

Central Serengeti and flight out to Arusha
Enjoy an early morning game drive around Seronera, taking advantage of cooler temperatures and softer light before heading to the airstrip. Your guide will choose the route according to current wildlife activity and flight timing.
Fly from Seronera to Arusha and continue with your onward transfer. Depending on your confirmed schedule, the safari can end at an Arusha hotel, Kilimanjaro International Airport, or with a suitable connection to Zanzibar.
For photographers, the final drive can allow time for careful observation and positioning before departure. Flight and road timings remain subject to operational conditions, so a safe connection margin is recommended.
