Arusha - Tarangire National Park - Karatu

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, begin your first game drive through the park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and abundant wildlife. During the game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive. Later, depart Tarangire and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart Karatu and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the scenic drive through the highlands, with opportunities to see local villages, farmland, and spectacular mountain scenery. Arrive at your lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying breathtaking views over the crater. Depending on your interests and time, you may also take a short nature walk or enjoy the surroundings of the lodge.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting game drive. The crater is one of Tanzania's most remarkable wildlife areas and offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and, with luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and continue toward Serengeti National Park.

As you enter the Serengeti, the landscape gradually opens into the famous endless plains. Keep your eyes open for wildlife along the way as you make your way to your camp or lodge.

Your guide will use local knowledge and recent wildlife information to search for the herds while also looking for the Serengeti's resident wildlife.
