Your Tavira Africa Safaris driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a short introduction to Kigali, begin the scenic drive north toward Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills and countryside. Arrive in the Musanze area, enjoy lunch and check into your lodge. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying views of the Virunga Mountains as you prepare for the following morning’s gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters in Kinigi for registration and a briefing from the park rangers. You will then drive to the trailhead and begin your trek through the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking time varies depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, spend up to one hour observing and photographing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, enjoy lunch and drive back to Kigali for drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
