Cross the footbridge over the Mkulumadzi River into camp. Settle into your chalet overlooking the river before an evening open-vehicle game drive or river cruise. Followed by the next day of a Full-day safari exploration. Majete is a conservation success story home to lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes. Riverine Wildlife at Kuthengo Camp (Liwonde)

Head northeast toward Liwonde National Park (~3.5 hours drive), Malawi’s premier riverine wildlife haven, staying at Kuthengo Camp nestled under fever trees on a bend of the Shire River. During the trip - a brief lunch stop in Zomba.

Arrive at Kuthengo for lunch. In the afternoon, board a boat for a safari along the Shire River get up close with massive hippo pods, crocodiles, and elephants bathing along the banks.

Early morning foot safari or open 4x4 drive across the open floodplains. Spot cheetahs, re-introduced wild dogs, and rare bird species like the Pel’s fishing owl.
