Arusha to Ndutu Area

After breakfast at your hotel, depart for Ndutu on a scenic journey of approximately 260 km, taking around 5.5 hours. Travel through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands before descending onto the sweeping plains of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Along the way, look out for herds of wildebeest and zebras grazing across the grasslands.

An optional visit to a Maasai boma offers an opportunity to learn about Maasai traditions and daily life. Upon reaching Ndutu, enjoy a game drive in search of the migration herds and the predators that follow them, surrounded by spectacular open landscapes.

Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Ndutu as the sun rises over the plains. Look out for lions, leopards, and cheetahs, which are often active during the cooler morning hours.

After breakfast, continue exploring Ndutu on a full-day game drive, searching for vast herds of wildebeest and zebras. During the calving season, you may spot newborn calves taking their first steps, while nearby predators provide opportunities to observe dramatic wildlife interactions.

As evening approaches, return to camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Enjoy a final early morning game drive in Ndutu, spending time among the wildebeest herds and searching for predators across the open plains. After lunch, leave Ndutu and journey towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, taking in the beautiful scenery along the way.

Watch for elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and other antelopes as you travel. With luck, you may also encounter lions, cheetahs, hyenas, or an elusive leopard before leaving the plains.

Arrive at Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Begin your final safari day with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater at around 6:30 am. This spectacular volcanic caldera stretches across approximately 260 square kilometres, with walls rising more than 600 metres above the crater floor.

Enjoy a four- to five-hour game drive through its diverse habitats, keeping your camera ready for lions, hyenas, buffaloes, hippos, and the endangered black rhino. The early start offers wonderful opportunities to observe wildlife in the cool morning hours.

After a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, ascend the crater walls and journey back to Arusha. Settle into your hotel for a relaxing evening and overnight stay, with time to unwind the following day.
