Day 2

After breakfast, depart Kigali and travel southwest towards Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests and an important habitat for chimpanzees and other primates.
Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills, tea plantations and traditional villages with lunch enroute.
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch. Relax in preparation for the following day's chimpanzee trekking experience.

Day 3
Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Experience

Rise early for breakfast before proceeding to the designated park reception point for a briefing and chimpanzee trekking experience.
Accompanied by experienced guides, venture into Nyungwe Forest in search of wild chimpanzees. Observe these fascinating primates as they feed, communicate and move through the forest canopy.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on an unforgettable canopy walk experience. Walk along a suspended bridge high above the rainforest floor, enjoying breathtaking views of the lush forest canopy and surrounding mountains. Look out for colourful birds, butterflies and monkeys moving through the vegetation.
Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, depart Nyungwe and travel north towards Volcanoes National Park, home to endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.
Enjoy scenic views of Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, terraced hillsides and rural communities along the way with lunch enroute.
The journey takes several hours, so an early departure is recommended. Upon arrival in the Ruhengeri area, check in at your lodge and relax in preparation for your mountain gorilla trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. Learn about gorilla trekking guidelines, safety precautions, and the conservation efforts protecting Rwanda’s endangered mountain gorillas.
After the briefing, proceed into the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once you encounter the gorillas, spend a memorable one hour observing them in their natural habitat, watching their feeding, grooming, and social interactions.
After returning from the trek, enjoy lunch before heading to Gorilla Guardian Village for an immersive cultural experience. Discover Rwanda’s rich traditions through traditional music and dance, storytelling, local customs, and demonstrations of traditional practices. Interact with community members and learn about their role in conservation and sustainable tourism.
Later, return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey tracking experience.
Explore the bamboo forests at the foothills of the Virunga Mountains in search of these lively primates, recognised by their distinctive golden-orange markings and playful behaviour.
Observe them as they forage, leap between bamboo stems and interact within their groups.
After the tracking experience, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Virunga Mountains.
