Day 3

A day at the canyon

A day at the canyon

Today is all about the Fish River Canyon, the largest canyon in Africa: around 160 km long and up to 550 m deep.

Take the morning at your own pace. Relax by the pool, follow the lodge’s free walking trails through the boulders and desert plants, or simply enjoy the peace of this remote corner of Namibia.

In the late afternoon, set off on a guided drive to the main lookout points on the canyon rim. Stand at the edge and look down into the winding gorge carved over millions of years, then watch the setting sun paint the cliffs in deep shades of red, orange and gold. It is one of the most unforgettable sunsets in southern Africa, so keep your camera ready.

Return to Canyon Village for dinner and your final night in the south.
