Day 3
Ndutu Area Following the Migration
Ndutu Area Following the Migration
After breakfast, we head to the Ndutu Area, which sits in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the edge of the Southern Serengeti plains. This region is part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem.
The plains here are dotted with tall acacia trees and offer beautiful views of Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek. The Ndutu Area is known as the ancestral calving ground for migratory wildlife, especially the wildebeest migration. It is also a great place to see predators and enjoy the scenery. The short grass plains provide rich grazing for wildebeest cows, helping them produce strong milk and giving newborn calves a better chance to survive. The open land makes it easier for mothers to spot predators, which helps protect the calves. The area includes wide stretches of short grassland, soda lakes, marshes, and woodlands that support both resident and migrating animals.
Dinner and overnight at our carefully selected tented camp.

Ndutu Area Following the Migration
Ndutu Area Following the Migration
After breakfast, we set out for a game drive in the Ndutu Area, which comes alive between January and March during the spectacular calving season.
Within a small window of two weeks between January and February, nearly 500,000 wildebeest calves are born, with up to 8,000 newborns arriving each day at the peak. This remarkable event attracts an abundance of predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, creating some of Africa's most dramatic and rewarding wildlife encounters.
The vast open plains provide excellent visibility for game viewing, while the sweeping landscapes and endless horizons create a truly immersive safari experience, where every drive reveals the incredible rhythm of life on the Serengeti ecosystem.
After an unforgettable day exploring the Ndutu plains, we return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you’ll head out to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will enjoy an en route game drive as we continue towards the Ngorongoro Crater.
Starting at about 2,286 meters above sea level, you’ll descend roughly 610 meters to reach the crater floor, which sits at around 1,600 meters. This huge caldera, once an active volcano, now covers about 304 square kilometers and spans nearly 19 kilometers.
More than 30,000 animals live here year-round. This is one of the few places in Africa where you might see all of the "Big Five" together, as well as ostriches, hippos, hyenas, warthogs, flamingos, and zebras. Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the best places in the world to spot the endangered black rhino in the wild. The only animal you won’t find here is the giraffe.
After a full day of spotting wildlife, you’ll return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and a restful night.
