This is a long road journey, so arrive rested and keep your camera and a warm layer close. Once through the Serengeti gate, enjoy game viewing as you travel towards Seronera. Your guide chooses the route around conditions and current wildlife activity; lions, giraffes, elephants and antelope may be seen, but sightings are never promised. Serengeti Game Drive to Ngorongoro Highlands

Start early for a morning game drive in Central Serengeti, when the cooler conditions can bring more animal activity. Follow your guide's advice on where to spend time, taking a patient approach to predators, grazing herds and the smaller animals often missed on a rushed drive. Carry breakfast or enjoy it at camp according to the agreed departure plan. After lunch, begin the drive towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, with wildlife viewing along the route out of the Serengeti. The afternoon includes substantial road travel rather than a second full game-drive session. Arrive at Naserian Safari Camp, part of Acacia Collections, for dinner and rest. Your guide briefs you for tomorrow's early crater descent. Keep a warm layer ready for the highland morning.

Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

Leave camp early after breakfast, or carry a breakfast box, and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for your final game drive. Explore grasslands, marshes and the hippo pools with your private driver-guide. Buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and lions may be encountered; black rhinos are present but sightings are not guaranteed. Stop for a picnic lunch at a designated site before ascending and beginning the drive back to Arusha. This is a full day combining the crater visit with a long return journey. Your safari ends at your Arusha hotel in the late afternoon or evening, depending on road and park conditions. Do not plan a tight onward flight connection.
